UNI GOT TALENT (UGT)

Uni Got Talent (UGT) is a dynamic and inclusive talent discovery platform based within Gombe State University, designed to unearth, nurture, and celebrate the diverse creative potential of students across campuses. The program spans multiple categories including music, dance, spoken word, fashion, tech innovation, and other unique forms of expression. It provides a stage where rising stars can showcase their talents, receive mentorship, and access growth opportunities in the creative and entertainment industries.

Uni Got Talent (UGT) is more than a competition, it is the rebirth of a dream.

The seed was first planted during the founder’s secondary school days, when Abednego Ambrose organized small-scale rap battles and talent showcases to give his peers a voice. Despite the backlash he faced, especially being a Bible study secretary at the time, he carried a burden in his heart: to create platforms where young people could be celebrated for their God-given gifts.

Though that early dream was momentarily silenced, it never truly died. Upon arriving at Gombe State University, Abednego encountered a new environment filled with passionate and gifted young people. He rose through leadership in the FCS Band and later inherited the Auditioning Class, a music training platform that exposed him to the raw, often overlooked talents around him. As he trained others, the burden to do more was reignited.

He realized many young creatives were brimming with potential, yet lacked a stage. That revelation birthed UGT — a vision divinely inspired to provide solutions to problems through gifts and talents.

From humble beginnings and against all odds, UGT has grown into one of the most impactful student-led movements in Gombe State University, with dreams far beyond one campus. It stands as a response to frustration, a celebration of purpose, and a light for many who would have otherwise remained unseen.

PATRON/CHIEF JUDGE

Godswill Mbak (G-Mbak)

Award-winning Music Producer, Songwriter, Multi-Instrumentalist, and Music Coach With a strong foundation in Linguistics and Communication Studies from Abia State University, Uturu, G-Mbak has established himself as a versatile music expert. As CEO of PHrontline Entertainment, he leads the renowned team OneSound, famous for their annual Live recording concert, ONE SOUND. G-Mbak's passion is to share God's grace through music, evident in his critically acclaimed album, "THE OUTBURST ALBUM," which won North East Album of the Year 2024.
